Sneak Review

Image
Sneak is the second book in the Swipe series by Evan Angler. It is juvenile dystopian. " When Logan Langly backed out of getting the Mark and went on the run, no one thought he could survive on his own. Without the Mark, you can't buy food, go to the doctor, or use a tablet--you aren't even a citizen. But when he discovers that his sister is being held in a mysterious hidden prison named Acheron, Logan risks everything to travel through an underground network of the Markless to rescue her. Logan arrives only to find that Acheron holds more secrets than anyone could have guessed and that all his careful planning is worthless against a government that will do anything to gain absolute control. It seems there is only one place to turn. But can a banned book with whisper-thin pages and warnings about the real meaning of the Mark really hold the Answer? "~Goodreads The author's note was a refresher of what happened in the first book, which is good since I read b

My Dream Book Panel

Image
I came home this past week to see an email sitting in my inbox. But this wasn't just another email from Pinterest or Goodreads. This was asking me what my dream book panel would be like. And I got to thinking. So I'm here today to tell you what my dream book panel would look like. Who would be on my panel? I would love for half of it to be book characters, the other half authors so I could hear from both sides. The authors could talk about their stories and writing. The characters would be interesting to hear from because they would be able to talk more about what their lives are like.  As for specifically? Definitely Annabeth Chase. I think it'd be cool to have Robin up there too-- though which one I don't know. My last character would be Cia Vale from The Testing . I have a whole list of authors ranging from fantasy-mystery.There are some authors I want to drag out of hiding like Christopher Paolini. Peter Lerangis and Sara Shepard are my two others. What qu

The Hammer of Thor Review

Image
The Hammer of Thor is the second book in the Magnus Chase series by Rick Riordan. It is juvenile mythology. Here are a few reasons to read it. " Thor's hammer is missing again. The thunder god has a disturbing habit of misplacing his weapon--the mightiest force in the Nine Worlds. But this time the hammer isn't just lost, it has fallen into enemy hands. If Magnus Chase and his friends can't retrieve the hammer quickly, the mortal worlds will be defenseless against an onslaught of giants. Ragnarok will begin. The Nine Worlds will burn. Unfortunately, the only person who can broker a deal for the hammer's return is the gods' worst enemy, Loki--and the price he wants is very high. "~Goodreads 1. One thing you can count on with Riordan's books is the humor. I was laughing so much because it's woven throughout the whole story. If you're used to serious gods that threaten to kill demigods, you won't be seeing much of that. 2. Okay, I may or

Yearly Wrap Up

Image
This is the first wrap up I've ever done so this will be interesting. This is part of 2016 in a nutshell.                                   I read 55 books this year. My goal at the beginning of the year was 50, but I soon realized I needed a smaller one so I lowered it to 30. I've met both of  them so that makes me happy. Two of those were comic books. They were The Lost Hero and Young Justice. My family visited Universal in Florida. The Harry Potter sections are outstanding. The builders and designers really outdid themselves. I plan on going a second time in my life because it was that awesome! Picking a favorite book is always hard. My top three are The Sword of Summer, Neverseen, and  Throne of Glass. (If you want to read my reviews go the the Reviews page.)  I participated in the Alphabet Soup reading challenge. I am happy to say I read 20 books toward that challenge (more than half of the alphabet, yay). On my blog I celebrated one whole year of blogg
