About
I've had a love for books for quite a while now. I first discovered BookTube, with book blogs following about a year after. With starting a BookTube channel out of the question at the time, I decided to start a blog. After a while of no name ideas, I thought of Isle of the Books, inspired by the Isles of the Blest in Greek Mythology. On that island, those who lived incredibly good lives spend their afterlife, and I wanted my blog to reflect a place that was a home for truly good books. As I began traveling more and wanting to share my experiences, the name changed meaning to reflect two-fold my love of books and my love of travel, since isles are somewhere that can be traveled to. Since reading is, in a manner of speaking, traveling, it also felt fitting to keep the same name.
My goal for books is to provide honest information pertaining to them and anything book-related. If a book review is done, I will give my honest review of the content, but will give my opinion on certain topics. On the other hand, not everything on here will be reviews. I'm going to change up my posts sometimes, but everything will be book-related.
I use the same rating system as Goodreads, but use halves. There are no 5+.
I try to not read books that use a enormous amount of cussing/cursing, books that revolve around truly toxic relationships (think Twilight), anything that has very intimate content, etc.

In my travel posts, I plan to incorporate books by listing what I read on the trip or recommended reading. I'll share some basic thoughts on the material; the travel posts will in no way function as book reviews.
That all being said, enjoy yourself!
