Liberty Review
Liberty is the second book in the Citizens of Logan Pond series, written by Rebecca Belliston. The genre is dystopian and clean romance.
"Chicago is burning, a rebellion rises, but that’s the least of Carrie’s concerns. Patrolman Simmons is assigned new partners who threaten the security and secrecy of Carrie's clan. Tensions are high, lines are drawn, and Carrie feels a wedge growing between her and Greg.
Haunted by past mistakes and impending tragedies, Greg knows he should distance himself from Carrie. He knows he should let her love the patrolman who can save her and her siblings, especially with money and resources dwindling. But knowing and doing are different matters. He's busy hatching a plan to salvage things when his citizenship backfires, and he’s asked to do the unthinkable. In this stunning follow-up to Life, loved ones are lost, allegiances are tested, and old enemies plot revenge. At every turn, the citizens of Logan Pond must ask: What price would you pay for the liberty of those you love?"~Goodreads
If you read my review on Life, I said how I was fine with a certain otp not being together. However, at this point I was dying for some cute moments between the two and basically for them to end up together. I can happily say that some of this was met. These two people deserve a happy ending-- a good bit do. Additionally, the majority of the couples are so adorable.
The last couple chapters, oh my goodness. I want to hate it but at the same time only half of it was surprising. Like come on, it's only a matter of time before the thing the clan dreading happens. The plot thickens! There were the sad and happy moments throughout the whole book. The last twenty chapters or so definitely left an impression though.
This series has easily become one of my favorites this year, and it's not that hard to understand why. The writing pulls you in. If you can feel almost everything the characters do then the author has done a pretty good job. Plus they're pretty relatable; I can relate to Carrie a lot. And can I ask where I can sigh up to join a certain movement?
Belliston did a wonderful job with the second installment in the trilogy, and I can't wait to see where all the characters end up (because cliff-hangers are a good thing and bad).
"Live free or die."

I was received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
