5 Tips for Writing Projects
We've all had some form of writing to do before, whether it be an essay, book, or presentation. No matter which project it is, and even though they're done over and over, we fall into the same old habits. Here are some tips that will hopefully make your writing experience easier.
Tip 1: Have a schedule. Telling yourself "I'll get this done and that done" doesn't show many results, at least from my experience. However, if I write something down on paper and plan my time, I'm more likely to actually get it accomplished. It also feels more official, and I certainly don't like to keep anything official waiting.
Tip 2: Don't Procrastinate. This also goes back to tip 1. Hopefully a schedule should help with this. If you were planning on going to a movie, but you're project isn't as far along as it should be, that trip might just need to be put off.
Tip 3: Give yourself a deadline. These can be arranged as needed if you get ahead or something important comes up. Deadlines can cause frantic scrambling to finish at the last minute to be history.
Tip 4:Use Your Time Well. Goofing off wastes precious time that could be used. True, the project may turn out great, but imagine how much better it would feel to have it done and not be rushing.
Tip 5: Try to have fun. There are those assignments that we get that seem horrible. However, even good can be found in what we believe to be horrible. That one thing can make the difference on how you view the work.
Do you procrastinate or get the writing done? Are there any types of writing assigned in school you find enjoyable?
