Wordy Wednesday (#1)

This is my first post for the theme and I hope I'm able to post regularly.  My first word is I found in Throne of Glass. I decided to use context clues at the time, which I seem to do a lot actually. It's opalescent. Opalescent - showing varying colors as an opal does That makes a lot of sense considering there's lots of glass and shiny things involved.
